2008 was another great year for the WCCRT Cat 5’s.  I compiled this info from txbra, so the true numbers should be a bit higher since only texas cup races are tracked in the txbra point system.  Even so, the Cat 5 racers put up some impressive numbers!

The WWCRT and it’s sponsors were represented 80+ times in Road Races.

There were 24 top 10 finishes.

Three of those were Podium finishes –

                Troy Fraske – 3^rd Bear Creek Crit

                Bill Bass, Dave Smith, Connor Cartland, Josafat Jaime – 2^nd State Team Time Trial

                Matt Long, Mike Moist, Mario Valaperta, Robert Rogers – 3^rd State Team Time Trial

Dave Smith led the way, representing the club in 14 separate road events.

Dave Smith also racked up 6 individual top 10’s.

Mike Moist and Dave Sheltraw followed, each getting 3 individual top 10’s of their own.

Other individual top 10 finishes came from Sean Ansley, Steven Briscoe, Alan Charley, Troy Fraske, Josafat Jaime and Wyatt Pritchard.

I know we had a great turnout and some good results at the Tour of New Braunfels, and possibly some other non texas cup races, but I can’t find the results, so I apologize if I missed you.

Congratulations to everyone who pinned on a number and represented the team this year.   2008 was a great year for the 5’s and I’m looking forward to what will be accomplished in 2009!
